While visiting my father and mother-in-law in Minnesota, we were starting to reminisce on how God works in our lives.
Early in the morning while visiting the wine country of California, my host had a surprise for me.
Faith means taking God at His Word — trusting fully that God keeps His promises. Perfectly.
“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. ..I have revealed and saved and proclaimed — You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, that I am God.” (Isaiah 43:10, 12)
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
There is something majestic upon seeing a small, still lake in the mountains. Calm waters reflect the beautiful surroundings and the towering images of jagged mountain peaks. Peace transcends from the calm water and quiets our soul.
“Those who are shielded and strengthened by God share the calm and quiet nature of the One in whom they trust.” (David Roper)
Despite our unfaithfulness, God always remains faithful. Despite our lack of trust, God remains trustworthy.
